Member for Tweed Geoff Provest today encouraged local volunteers who help manage Crown land in the region to consider nominating for the 2021 Community Achievement Awards for Regional NSW & the ACT.

Mr Provest said the NSW Government is calling for award nominations in two award categories to recognise outstanding volunteers who devote their time on behalf of their communities.

“The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment – Crown Lands is sponsoring two categories of the 2021 Community Achievement Awards for Regional NSW & the ACT,” Mr Provest said.

Nominations are open until 11 August for the Crown Land Manager Excellence Award for outstanding community boards; and the Individual Excellence in Crown Land Management Award to honour outstanding individual volunteers.

These awards will recognise and reward Crown land manager boards and individuals that have demonstrated outstanding community service, dedication and commitment to their communities.

“We are indebted to thousands of Crown land manager volunteers who devote their time to help manage reserves to provide social, environmental and economic benefits to their local communities,” Mr Provest said,

Nominations are free and are open until 11 August 2021 so I encourage local Crown land managers to apply or nominate a worthy colleague.”

All category winners of the Community Achievement Awards will receive $2,000 worth of prizes, including an airtime package on PRIME7, along with a trophy, while every nomination receives a certificate of achievement.
