The Tweed sports infrastructure investment boom is continuing following the opening of Round 2 of the Regional Sport Facility Fund.

The Fund provides grants for new and upgraded sports facilities in regional NSW, Lord Howe Island and Far West NSW.

Member for Tweed Geoff Provest said the Fund was improving sport infrastructure for the sport-loving Tweed community.

“The health and wellbeing benefits of sport and active recreation can’t be underestimated,” Mr Provest said.

“The Regional Sport Facility Fund is improving local sports facilities and active recreational spaces, and enabling more people to participate in sport and active recreation.

“I encourage local organisations to apply for a grant under the Fund.”

The Regional Sport Facility Fund provides grants of $100,000 – $1 million for projects such as amenity buildings, lighting, clubrooms, changerooms and grandstands.

Applications open 30 August 2021 and close 8 October 2021 at noon.
