The Tweed community loves its koalas, we love our native Aussie animals and we love our spectacular local environment.
Members of our community have raised their concerns with me about the future of a piece of land in Bogangar near Cudgen Nature Reserve known as Lot 2, Clothiers Creek Road, Bogangar.
I shared those concerns with the Minister and have been working with him to make sure we can protect and preserve this land.
And now I am thrilled to share some good news!
I met with Environment Minister Matt Kean yesterday and he confirmed the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) team has recently exchanged contracts for the site.
I look forward to being able to share more information once the technical legal steps have been finalised, hopefully in coming weeks.
