Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest, today called for nominations for the 2019 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards.

“The NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards give us a chance to thank a senior for everything they do in the community,” Mr Provest said.

“This is an opportunity to nominate seniors who are making a real difference to the lives of those around them.”

Minister for Ageing Tanya Davies said seniors are valued and respected members of our community.

“Whether it is volunteering for a charity, lending a helping hand to a local sporting club or caring for a loved one, older Australians do so much to make our families and communities stronger,” Mrs Davies said.

The 2019 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards will celebrate seniors’ achievements across a range of endeavours, including business, the environment, science, agriculture, health and wellbeing, learning and community service.

Nominations for the 2019 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards are open until 5pm Friday, February 8. Awards will be presented at the Tweed Shire Seniors Festival Opening Ceremony on 13 February.

Nomination forms are available from the Tweed Electorate Office – call 07 5523 4826 or email tweed@parliament.nsw.gov.au
