Member for Tweed Geoff Provest and Acting Minister for Veterans Geoff Lee have announced applications are now open for Round 2 of the 2019-20 Community War Memorials Fund.
The NSW Government provides grants of up to $10,000 to help conserve, repair and protect war memorials across NSW.
“War memorials are places of remembrance that help us to understand our history. It is important that we keep them in good condition through careful repair and maintenance,” Mr Provest said
Minister Lee said the fund helps ensure our veterans and our State’s military history are acknowledged.
“Our war memorials are precious monuments we need to cherish and protect as they give us a place to reflect and pay our respects to those brave soldiers who fought for the freedom we enjoy today,” said Mr Lee.
In previous rounds, Community War Memorials Fund grants have been awarded for a wide range of projects including condition assessments of war memorials, the repair of deteriorated honour rolls, and work to protect war memorial halls.
Applications will close on Anzac Day 2020.
