Tweed Nationals MP Geoff Provest has tested negative for COVID-19 following a contact with an infected person in the NSW Parliament, but is self-isolating in Sydney on the advice of NSW Health and to keep the Tweed safe,

“The contact occurred while attending Parliament. I was tested and that came back negative on Friday, I will be tested again on days 7 and 12, and will isolate until midnight 6 July,” Mr Provest said.

“Every precaution must be taken to keep the Tweed safe, so I will remain in Sydney until I get the final all-clear from the medical experts.”

Mr Provest said it was a timely reminder that the pandemic is not over, that social isolation remains critically important and that it is vital to get inoculated as soon as possible once you become eligible.
