Firefighters in Kingscliff will be even better equipped to protect the community with a new state-of-the-art fire station set to be built under a re-elected Liberals & Nationals Government.
Tweed MP Geoff Provest announced the $5.85 million commitment at Kingscliff this morning.
“The NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is committed to building a new fire station at Kingscliff to help address the region’s growing population,” Mr Provest said.
“Our local firies do a tremendous job, and while the existing station on Marine Parade has served them and our local community well for many years, it’s now time to update it with a bigger, better station for the future.”
Mr Provest said today’s pledge to build a new station highlights the Government’s ongoing commitment to community safety.
“Every day of the week our firefighters put their lives on the line to keep people and property safe. We’re ensuring they have the resources, infrastructure and facilities they need for that crucial work to continue,” Mr Provest said.
The new fire station will be built on a new site, once a suitable location has been secured and the construction tender process is finalised.
“I’m incredibly proud of this announcement. The people of the Tweed can be confident the Government is providing our first responders with the facilities and support they need to continue protecting our community,” Mr Provest said.
