They are the smiling faces that light up their grandkid’s worlds and they are the helping hand for parents and now it’s time to say a big thank you by nominating your Local Grandparent of the Year in Tweed.
Member for Tweed Geoff Provest said the Local Grandparent of the Year Awards are a highlight of Grandparents Day on Sunday, 25 October.
“There’s no denying it’s been tough on our grandparents this year with COVID-19 meaning they have had to isolate more than most to keep themselves safe,” Mr Provest said.
“That means they haven’t been able to see their family members as much but they have still been there for us on the phone and via video calls whenever we need them.”
“Grandparents Day is the perfect opportunity to show grandparents just how much they are loved and appreciated.
“We have some truly inspiring grandparents in Tweed and it would be great to see them honoured.”
The Local Grandparent of the Year winner can be nominated for the big gong which is the NSW Grandparent of the Year Award.
“The love, care and support grandparents give is something we should all cherish.
“Grandparents Day is the perfect time to shine a spotlight on these special people and give them the recognition they deserve.
Nominations close at midnight on 27 September 2020.
