Nationals Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest is encouraging Tweed residents to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of local women and girls by submitting nominations for the 2027 NSW Women of the Year Awards, with nominations now open.
The awards recognise women and girls who make a meaningful difference in the lives of others through leadership, courage, community service, and a commitment to inspiring future generations.
Nominations are open across six award categories:
- NSW Premier’s Woman of Excellence
- NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year
- NSW Community Hero
- NSW Regional Woman of the Year
- NSW Young Woman of the Year
- Ones to Watch
The Ones to Watch category celebrates girls and young women aged 7 to 15 who demonstrate courage, bravery, strength, determination, or kindness in supporting those around them. Parents, carers and teachers are encouraged to nominate young people whose actions are making a positive impact in their communities.
The recipients of the 2027 NSW Women of the Year Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Sydney on Thursday, 4 March 2027.
The 2027 NSW Women of the Year Awards ceremony will be the flagship event of NSW Women’s Week, which will be held from Tuesday, 2 March to Monday, 8 March 2027, culminating in the celebration of International Women’s Day.
NSW Women’s Week recognises the invaluable contributions of women and girls across the state, providing an opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate their achievements, leadership and impact.
Community members are encouraged to nominate an exceptional woman or girl who is making a positive difference.
