A Recovery Assistance Point (RAP) will operate at Cudgen Headland Surf Life Saving Club on Friday, 24 June, providing access to a range of flood recovery support and services for permanent residents of nearby caravan parks.
Parliamentary Secretary for Police and Emergency Services and Member for Tweed Geoff Provest said the RAP will operate between the hours of 10am and 4pm.
“Caravan park residents will be able to access Service NSW grants like the Back Home grant, legal aid services and mental health support,” Mr Provest said.
“To ensure staff are able to assist you, I am reminding everyone to bring two forms of identification such as a driver’s licence, Medicare card, passport, birth certificate or Australian citizenship certificate.”
Up to $20,000 is available through the Back Home grant, with new guidelines making it easier for caravan park residents to access the financial assistance.”
A shuttle bus service will run hourly on the day from the flowing caravan park entry points:
- Ingenia Holiday Park;
- Royal Pacific Tourist Retreat and Caravan Park;
- Chinderah Village Tourist Park;
- Tweed Ski Lodge Caravan Park;
- Tweed River Hacienda Holiday Park;
- Tweed Shores;
- Homestead Holiday Park; and
- Chinderah Lake Caravan Park.
A free barbeque will be held at the Surf Life Saving Club at 12pm on the day.
