Yesterday, the Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest today announced $3.2 million for Kingscliff Sports Complex and today announced a $350,000 grant to breathe new life into Barry Shepherd Oval at Round Mountain.

“This is an exciting time for sports facilities on the Tweed Coast with this funding to provide new change facilities and field lighting,” Mr Provest said,

“The upgrade of these facilities will enable the newly formed women’s team and senior men’s AFL teams to fully utilize the field for competition and training during the day and into the evening.

“I congratulate Tweed Shire Council and the Tweed Coast Tigers on the success of this application and know these sport and community facility improvements will make the Tweed an even more attractive place to work and raise a family,” he said.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the funding was provided in the second round of projects through the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.

“The $300 million Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the NSW Government’s $1.6 billion Regional Growth Fund that is employing local tradies, putting local suppliers to work and providing the right environment to operate regional businesses,” he said.
