Three new Probationary Constables will commence duties in the Tweed/Byron Police District next week after being sworn into the NSW Police Force today.
Member for Tweed Geoff Provest said he welcomed the new recruits who will now complete 12 months on-the-job training.
“I’m pleased three new Probationary Constables are joining the Tweed/Byron Police District ranks on Monday 4 March,” Mr Provest said.
“After eight months of training in the Constable Education Program, today’s attestation ceremony at the Goulburn Police Academy is a proud moment for the Probationary Constables and their families and friends.
“I commend the graduates for making this commitment to keeping our communities safe and taking on this important responsibility.
“I look forward to seeing the new recruits in and around the Tweed.”
NSW Shadow Minister for Police Paul Toole shared his welcome to the enthusiastic new recruits who come from diverse backgrounds and professional experience.
“I am proud to welcome the new recruits into the NSW Police Force who have taken up the incredibly challenging but rewarding responsibility of serving and protecting the people of NSW,” Mr Toole said.
“These probationary constables are helping strengthen the ranks of our modern and world-class Police Force.
“Policing is like no other profession; it is a selfless career where officers run towards danger to protect us and the wider community rather than the natural instinct to run in the opposite direction.”
