Local groups and not-for-profit organisations that delivered food and care hampers to community members in Tweed during the 2021 COVID lockdowns can now apply to have some of their distribution expenses reimbursed thanks to the Resilience NSW COVID Regional Community Support (CRCS) program.
Member for Tweed Geoff Provest said not-for-profits and groups in Tweed can now apply to recoup up to $30,000 of costs incurred when distributing these vital supports during lockdown, including fuel, couriers and logistics expenses.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic groups from across Tweed stood up to help their fellow community members with deliveries of vital supplies when they were needed most,” Mr Provest said.
“I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who contributed to these efforts and acknowledge the outstanding community spirit that has carried us through this challenging time.”
Applications close on Tuesday, 1 March. Reimbursed funds will become available in late April.
