Not-for-profit organisations delivering critical social services support to vulnerable people will receive a helping hand to assist with the ongoing impacts of the pandemic.
Member for Tweed Geoff Provest said the NSW Government was providing targeted financial relief to Pottsville Beach Neighbourhood Centre Inc working to deliver services to the most vulnerable members of the community.
“This funding will support the services on the frontline of service delivery for the most vulnerable people in our community,” Mr Provest said.
“As we continue to ease restrictions, this additional boost will help organisations adapt and ensure the continuity of the important support they provide.”
The funding boost is part of the NSW Government’s $50 million Social Sector Support Fund, which is delivering a range of targeted financial assistance to organisations working across the social services and animal welfare sectors.
Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Alister Henskens said program would assist organisations to retain jobs, meet emergency needs and secure business continuity.
“The social services sector in NSW is incredibly diverse and includes organisations working across child and family services, domestic violence, homelessness, housing, and disability support,” Mr Henskens said.
“It will help ease the financial burden as we transition out of COVID-19 restrictions and ensure organisations can adapt to unexpected changes and maintain continuity of the important services they deliver.”
